April 28, 2009 Update
The National Trust for Historic Preservation names the Marine Stadium to its 2009 list of America's Most Endangered Historic Places.
The Preservation Planning Studio of the University of Miami will make a presentation on planning alternatives for the Marine Stadium Basin and Virginia Key. The event will be at the Miami Rowing Club, Friday, May 8, from 10:00 AM-12:00. The event is free and open to the public. Details included.

Team Row, a Miami-based organization dedicated to the growth of the sport of rowing and its benefits throughout the community, is a member organization of USRowing, the sports national governing body, and a member of its Task Force on Affordability, Accessibility, and Diversity. The organization proposes to utilize the Marine Stadium as a venue to conduct community-based rowing programs during non-peak hours (Monday through Friday). Such use would not only serve the demand for sports opportunities and youth development in many of the Downtown/Little Havana/Coconut GRove neighborhoods, but will balso not interfere with weekend activity and events at the Stadium.

Neptune Florida Yacht Club
Many people used to attend concerts at the Marine Stadium by boat and moor their boats near the floating stage. The presence of dozens of boats added even more to the unique environment.
