Marine Stadium Named to World Monuments Fund 2010 Watch List
The Marine Stadium has been named to the World Monuments Fund 2010 Watch List along with other sites such as Macchu Picchu and the Center Cities of Buenos Aires and Old Jerusalem.

April 28, 2009 Update
The National Trust for Historic Preservation names the Marine Stadium to its 2009 list of America's Most Endangered Historic Places.

The Preservation Planning Studio of the University of Miami will make a presentation on planning alternatives for the Marine Stadium Basin and Virginia Key. The event will be at the Miami Rowing Club, Friday, May 8, from 10:00 AM-12:00. The event is free and open to the public. Details included.

National Trust For Historic Preservation Video

On April 28, 2009, the National Trust designated the Marine Stadium as one of "11 Endangered Historic Places" in the United States.

A big thanks to Monk Terry of the Miami Rowing Club for his terrific job as commentator on this video. Walter Cronkite could not have done it better.

April 16, 2009 Update
Many Miami Marines have told us about the terrific experiences they had at the Marine Stadium. Hannah Imberman and Kira Feldman, two terrific girl scouts, are gathering these "memories " for a book! You can write up your remembrances of the Stadium and submit it to Hannah and Kira at the web address ifseatscouldtalk.gmail.

Richard Serotta is a promoter, music producer, engineer and musician who has worked in South Florida for 35 years. He presented Gato Barbieri and others at the Marine Stadium.

Because of his direct experience, Richard Serotta is well qualified to talk about the potential of the Stadium. Team Row, Juliio Viyella President
Team Row, a Miami-based organization dedicated to the growth of the sport of rowing and its benefits throughout the community, is a member organization of USRowing, the sports national governing body, and a member of its Task Force on Affordability, Accessibility, and Diversity. The organization proposes to utilize the Marine Stadium as a venue to conduct community-based rowing programs during non-peak hours (Monday through Friday). Such use would not only serve the demand for sports opportunities and youth development in many of the Downtown/Little Havana/Coconut GRove neighborhoods, but will balso not interfere with weekend activity and events at the Stadium.

Neptune Florida Yacht Club
Many people used to attend concerts at the Marine Stadium by boat and moor their boats near the floating stage. The presence of dozens of boats added even more to the unique environment.

We've encountered lots of enthusiasm for the Stadium from boat owners who had attended events at the Stadium. Attached is a letter from the Neptune Florida Yacht Club-like many boaters, they remember the remarkable environment at the Marine Stadium and want to return.
