Here's more evidence that there will be a strong demand for the Marine Stadium by concert promoters. It is ironic that although some have considered the Stadium a "white elephant", we have been told repeatedly by promoters that changing economic realities in the entertainment industry are now perfectly attuned to the Marine Stadium. With 6,500 seats, the Stadium is a mid-sized arena, the most desirable size. 1,000-2,000 seat venues are too small; only a few artists can fill larger facilities (ie. 18,000 seat arenas).

Mayor Regalodo promises revitalization of the Marine Stadium in his swearing in speech. For a long time, the Mayor has been a strong proponent of the Marine Stadium. He has been to numerous meetings of Friends of Marine Stadium and, in fact, he was active in protecting the Stadium even before Friends of Marine Stadium was formed.
We are delighted with Mayor Regalado's leadership on the Marine Stadium and we look forward to working with him!

Team Row, a Miami-based organization dedicated to the growth of the sport of rowing and its benefits throughout the community, is a member organization of USRowing, the sports national governing body, and a member of its Task Force on Affordability, Accessibility, and Diversity. The organization proposes to utilize the Marine Stadium as a venue to conduct community-based rowing programs during non-peak hours (Monday through Friday). Such use would not only serve the demand for sports opportunities and youth development in many of the Downtown/Little Havana/Coconut GRove neighborhoods, but will balso not interfere with weekend activity and events at the Stadium.
