Marine Stadium Named to World Monuments Fund 2010 Watch List
The Marine Stadium has been named to the World Monuments Fund 2010 Watch List along with other sites such as Macchu Picchu and the Center Cities of Buenos Aires and Old Jerusalem.

The Marine Stadium Basin is a world class triathlon site. Michael Spring, Director, Miami Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs

Mike Gordon 100 Boat Race
Over the years, the Marine Stadium was a major hub for boat racing. This video features the Mike Gordon 100, which featured 100 laps of racing and was sponsored by (who else) Mike Gordon, owner of Miami's well known Seafood Restaurant.

The video was taken by Don Winer, a former boat racer and Head of Committee for this event. Don is a very active member of Friends of Marine Stadium.

National Trust For Historic Preservation

The letter is from Stephanie Meeks, President of The National Trust. The National Trust for Historic Preservation has been an important soucre of support for the Marine Stadium, through inclusion on the Trust's "11 Most Endangered" list in 2009 and grants for an engineering study and the Floating Stage Design Contest. Recently, the Trust named the Marine Stadium to its list of National Treasures, which means that the Stadium is now in line for additional support to move the project forward.

National Trust For Historic Preservation VIdeo

Recently,the National Trust for Historic Preservation created the "National Treasures" program to place emphasis on a limited number of historic sites in the United States. The Marine Stadum has made the first round of selections to the National Treasures list. This video features four sites nationwide-includirng the Marine Stadium.

National Trust For Historic Preservation Video

On April 28, 2009, the National Trust designated the Marine Stadium as one of "11 Endangered Historic Places" in the United States.

Neptune Florida Yacht Club
Many people used to attend concerts at the Marine Stadium by boat and moor their boats near the floating stage. The presence of dozens of boats added even more to the unique environment.

We've encountered lots of enthusiasm for the Stadium from boat owners who had attended events at the Stadium. Attached is a letter from the Neptune Florida Yacht Club-like many boaters, they remember the remarkable environment at the Marine Stadium and want to return.
