Marine Stadium Named to World Monuments Fund 2010 Watch List
The Marine Stadium has been named to the World Monuments Fund 2010 Watch List along with other sites such as Macchu Picchu and the Center Cities of Buenos Aires and Old Jerusalem.

August, 2013 Update

Marne Stadium Site Plan approved on July 11 by Miami City Commission! The approval generated a significant amount of press and new endorsmenets from the Greater Miami and the Beaches Hotel Association and Miami Dade State Legislative Delegation. With site plan approval, we can now move on to funrdraising.

Greater Miami CHamber of Commerce Visits the Marine Stadium

On July 11, the Graeter Miami Chamber of Commerce visited the Miami Marine Stadium. The timing was terrific-earler that afternoon, the Miami City Commission had approved the Marine Stadium site plan, allowing the project to move forward. This short video, which includes interviews with Hilario Candela, Jorge Hernandez, Rosemary Ravinal and SPencer Crowley, feels more like a celebration.

June, 2013 Update

The Marine Stadium site plan is going to Miami City Commission on July 11 and we need your help! Please email the City Commission and ask them to support the plan. The Coral Gables Museum will host the first ever exhibit about the Marine Stadium this October, 2013. Miami philanthropist Kirk Landon has provided a $50,000 grant, to be matched by others-for the Marine Stadium. The Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce has gotten on board as a supporter of the Marine Stadium. The Stadium is now an important part of the 2013-2014 Chamber goals. The Gloria Estefan announcement has given us terrific momentum on our effort to restore the Stadium. All told, the announcement was covered by media reaching over 50 million people in the United States, Latin America, and the Carribean.

May, 2013 Update

Gloria Estefan becomes the "Voice" of Friends of Miami Marine Stadium and will lead the advocacy effort to restore the Stadium. The Antique Boat Museum of Clayton NY-the larghest freshwater maritime museum in the United States-has agreed to try to raise funding for a satellite Museum, to be located in the proposed Maritime Center directly to the West of the Marine Stadium. A recent press event at the Stadium targeted to bloggers generated a substantial amount of press for the Stadium.
