Excel produces the Miami International Triathlon. Highly successful in just its first year, the Excel would like to use the Marine Stadium for its event. The Stadium has terrific potential for events like this.

This report on the Stadium was done by the Hartford Steam Boiler Inspection and Insurance Company in 1993 after Hurricane Andrew. The report showed that the Stadium could have been repaired for a cost estimated between $2-3 milion and the Stadium was not damaged during Hurricane Andrew (page 40). Unfortunately, the City did not act on the results of this study.
